TMR W1 vs Montreal Barbarians (W 89-07)
Tuesday night was certainly a rugby day for the TMR Women’s Prems team who came out roaring against the Montreal Barbarians. TMR had excellent continuity and line spead, a skill they have tirelessly worked on in practices. They were able to push the pace from the opening minutes, up until the final whistle blow. TMR standouts Emmanuela Jada & Simone Savary would outpace and outpower the Barbarians defense, both scoring hat tricks tries. TMR was strong both inside and outside their attack, with Birthday girl Jessica Michelin scoring a beautiful corner try to end the first half. Winger Noemi Brown would also showcase her speed scoring 50m tries in the second half. TMR welcomed back Arielle Normandin-Leclerc who was an instant impact on the field, and will be a weapon moving into the second half of the season. Welcomed to their Prems game Premiere, half back Stephanie Willis & forward Joanie Duchesneau did not disappoint, and were instant pace elevators when inserted into the game. Shoutout to Sandra Demaine for accomplishing a two man tackle, tackling not only the ball carrier, but also her latching support, “I really didn’t want them to score”. Great work Sandra. Second shoutout to Virginie Bourque for her “send them packing” stiff arms, which had a few opposing players finish their game on the bench. It was a great turnout for this away game, with a full sideline of TMR support & family present to cheer on these ladies. The TMR women will now move their focus into the second half of the season, and gearing up for what will be a momentum climb into playoffs!

Rugby, un mardi soir?
TMR W1 vs Montreal Barbarians (V 89-07)
Mardi fut certainement une soirée parfaite pour jouer au rugby pour l’équipe des TMR Women’s Prems qui ont affronté les Montreal Barbarians. TMR a démontré une excellente continuité et une grande rapidité de la ligne défensive, des habiletés qu’elles ont pratiquées sans relâche en entrainements. Elles ont été en mesure de maintenir le rythme, des premières minutes, jusqu'au coup de sifflet final. Emmanuela Jada et Simone Savary se sont démarquées en devançant et dominant la défensive des Barbarians, toutes les deux marquant un tour du chapeau. TMR ont été forte à la fois à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur de leur attaque, la fêtée du jour Jessica Michelin marquant un magnifique essai à l’extrémité de la zone des buts pour conclure la première demie. L’ailier Noémi Brown a démontré sa vitesse marquant un essai après une course de 50m en deuxième mi-temps. Dès son retour dans les rangs de TMR, Arielle Normandin-Leclerc a eu un impact immédiat sur l’équipe, étant une arme de choix en pour la deuxième moitié du match. La half back Stephanie Willis et l’avant Joanie Duchesneau n’ont pas déçue lors de leur premier match avec les Prems. Dès leurs premières phases de jeu, elles ont su élever le rythme sur le terrain. Sandra Demaine a impressionné tout le monde lorsque d’un seul élan elle a effectué un double plaquage, plaquant non seulement la porteuse de ballon, mais également son soutien latéral, “I really didn’t want them to score”. Félicitation Sandra! Virginie Bourque a coupé le souffle de la foule et de ses adversaires avec ses stiffs arms sans pitié, envoyant quelques joueuses des Barbarians terminer le match sur le banc. Les fans de TMR étaient au côté de leur équipe pour ce match à l’extérieur. Joueuses de la réserve, familles et amies étaient là pour encourager nos dames. Les joueuses de TMR vont maintenant se concentrer sur le deuxième moitié de la saison et se préparer pour ce qui sera assurément une ascension fulgurante en séries éliminatoires!

A LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS
TMR W2 vs Sherbrooke Abénakis (L 19-43)
Saturday, July 7th, the TMR women’s seconds team were on the road to Grant’s field to face the Sherbrooke Abénakis. With a full roster and endlessly positive attitude, our ladies hit the pitch with a little help from our Super League players. From the start, TMR II worked hard on defense, making extra efforts to run back and support our full back, Sabrina Neveu. When possession of the ball was gained, are ladies made it through multiple phases of successful play before making an error. Coach Beemer stated they were the longest sequences of play he has seen this team have since the start of the season. By the water break after the first quarter of the match, our ladies were only down by two tries. The remainder of the first half saw an increase in intensity and small runs made towards the end zone, though our defensive efforts slackened. The score at half was 0-29. The second began with a few changes, though TMR had difficulty finding its offensive footing. Scrum half Laura Pollice kept her cool though many errors were made by her teammates after she worked hard to deliver the ball. Many tried were scored against our girls in the third quarter as a result. With 20 minutes remaining in the game, the TMR II women began to play with a sense of urgency. Phenomenal tackling by Jennifer Archer, Steph Willis, Simone Savary and Val Courtemanche shut down the Abénakis back line. When on offence, our forwards marched up the field gaining 5 meters each march forward. Sandra Demaine, Joanie Duscheneau, Rosalie Gravel and Virginie Bourque led the charge up the field in the forwards, crashing the ball and delivering it for our backs. Notable runs made by Rosalie Authier, running from inside our 22 down to score a try, and Simone Savary, charging up half the field on her own in her debut as a Center. Our ladies scored three tries in the final 15 minutes of play, the last of which being a forward charge up the Center with pick and goes. With a little help from some experienced friends, our ladies left the pitch in high spirits and feeling accomplished by getting the highest score count since the beginning of the season.

UN PEU D'AIDE DE NOS AMIES
TMR W2 vs Sherbrooke Abénakis (D 19-43)
Samedi, le 7 juillet, l’équipe des TMR women’s seconds étaient sur la route pour Grant’s field afin d’affronter les Sherbrooke Abénakis. Avec une équipe complète et une attitude positive sans borne, nos dames ont attaqué le terrain avec un peu d'aide de nos joueurs de Super Ligue. Dès le début, TMR II a travaillé fort en défensive, faisant des efforts supplémentaires pour revenir de l’arrière et soutenir notre full back, Sabrina Neveu. Lorsqu’elles ont été en possession du ballon, nos dames ont réussi plusieurs phases de jeu sans fautes. L'entraîneur Craig Beemer a affirmé qu’il s’agissait des plus longues phases de jeu qu’il avait vu de la part de cette équipe. Après le premier quart, lors de la pause hydratation, nos dames n’avaient que deux essais de retard sur leur adversaire. Le reste de la première demie a vu une augmentation de l’intensité et de courtes courses vers la zone des buts, mais nos efforts défensifs se sont relâchés. Le pointage à la demie était de 0-29. La seconde demie a débuté avec quelques changements, en dépit des difficultés de TMR II a trouvé leur position offensive. La scrum half, Laura Pollice a gardé son calme malgré les erreurs de ses coéquipières après qu’elle a fait beaucoup d’effort pour gagner la balle. Plusieurs essais ont été comptés contre nos dames au troisième quart. Avec seulement 20 minutes au match, les dames de TMR II ont commencé à jouer avec un sentiment d’urgence. Les plaquages phénoménaux de Jennifer Archer, Stephanie Willis, Simone Savary et Valérie Courtemanche sont venus à bout de la ligne arrière des Abénakis. En offensive, nos joueuses d’avant ont remonté le terrain en gagnant chaque fois 5 mètres. Sandra Demaine Joanie Duchesneau, Rosalie Gravel et Virginie Bourque ont mené l’offensive, leurs efforts ont permis de conserver le ballon et de le passer aux arrières. Une course notable réalisée par Rosalie Authier, de notre ligne de 22 à leur zone des buts a permis à nos dames de s’inscrire au tableau indicateur. Lors de ses débuts en tant que centre Simone Savary a foncé depuis le centre du terrain seule. Nos dames ont marqué trois essais dans les dernières 15 minutes du match, le dernier de ceux-ci étant une charge offensive à partir du milieu de terrain en pick and go. Avec l’aide de nos amies expérimentées, nos dames ont quitté le terrain la tête haute ayant en poche le plus haut score de leurs saison.

TMR W2 vs Kingston Panthers (L 00-111)
Saturday, June 23 the TMR Women's Seconds team played against the Kingston Panthers. Our ladies put up a solid fight from start to finish. With only a few substitutes, the TMR II began the match with flat lines and much more communication than in previous games. Their efforts yielded positive results for a good portion of the first half. The only tries scored by Kingston were a result of small errors made. Errors which they capitalized on. The second half brought many changes in position for our young team, including Emilie Heckel’s first attempt at Fly Half. Many players who had their first games of rugby only a few months ago made great improvements on their tackling and showed an increased understanding of game play. In the last quarter of the game, when our ladies began to tire and no more replacements could be made, a few key players on the Kingston side broke the line repeatedly. Efforts made by Noemi B. as Full Back were no match for their offloads, though she always complete her tackles. Stand out performances from Jennifer Archer, 13, and Joanie Duchesneau, 8, with massive hits and continued improvements in their defensive efforts.

TMR W1 vs St-Lambert Locks (W 45-19)
On Saturday June 23, your TMR Women’s Prems took on the St. Lambert Locks, in week 6 of their 2018 season. TMR women have been consistent in proving they are a versatile team, with strong athletes willing & able to play in any position. With many players trying on new numbers, shuffles from front row, to second row, and forward to back, the TMR women showcased their offensive prowess in a dominating victory over the Locks. TMR started the game off strong with dominant set piece, hard crashing balls, and speeding attack from Anaïs Holly and her back line. There was notable first half intensity from Captain Ngalula Faumba, forward Virginie Bourque & forward turned center Lauren Minns. Noemi Brown & Tatiana Joseph impressed on the wings showing great composure for players relatively new to the game! TMR was able to control the first half with a good go forward defense, and very aggressive line speed. Sandra would start and finish the game with the same line speed, often leading and encouraging her defensive line to keep it’s structure. TMR would let off the gas in the second half, allowing the Locks to show an offensive side they had shut down in the first half. Despite a slow down at the finish of this match, TMR would come out on top, besting the Locks in this second meeting of the season.

Samedi, le 23 juin 2018, TMR Women's Seconds ont affronté les Kingston Panthers. Nos dames se sont bien battues du début à la fin. Avec seulement quelques substituts, le TMR Women's Seconds ont commencé le match avec des belles lignes défensives et beaucoup plus de communication que dans les matchs précédents. Leurs efforts ont donné des résultats positifs pour une bonne partie de la première demie. Les seuls essais marqués par Kingston étaient le résultat de petites erreurs commises, erreurs sur lesquelles elles ont su capitaliser. La seconde demie a apporté de nombreux changements de position à notre jeune équipe, notamment la première tentative d'Émilie Heckel au poste de Fly Half. De nombreuses joueuses ayant fait leur début au rugby il y a quelques mois ont démontré de grandes améliorations dans leurs tactiques et dans leur compréhension du jeu. Au dernier quart du match, lorsque nos dames ont commencé à se fatiguer et qu'il n'y avait plus de remplaçantes, quelques joueurs clés du côté de Kingston ont brisé la ligne défensive à plusieurs reprises. Les efforts déployés par Noemi B. comme Full Back ne furent pas à la hauteur de leurs poussées, malgré ses magnifiques plaquages. Jennifer Archer, 13, et Joanie Duchesneau, 8, se sont démarquées par leurs robustes plaquages et leurs améliorations continuelles en défensive.

TMR W1 vs St-Lambert Locks (V 45-19)
Samedi, 23 juin, vos TMR Women’s Prems ont affronté les St. Lambert Locks, dans le cadre de la sixième semaine de leur saison 2018. TMR Women’s Prems ont prouvé, à plusieurs reprises, qu’elles sont une équipe versatile avec des athlètes fortes prêtes et capables de jouer à n’importe quelle position. Malgré que plusieurs joueuses n’arboraient pas leur numéro habituel, interchangeant les positions de première ligne à deuxième ligne ou encore d’avant à arrière, les femmes de TMR ont démontré leur prouesse offensive dans une victoire dominante sur les Locks. TMR a débuté la partie en force avec des jeux dominants, d’impressionnantes avancées offensives et des attaques rapides d’Anaïs Holly épaulée par sa ligne d’arrière. La capitaine Ngalula Faumba, l'attaquante Virginie Bourque et l'avant devenue centre Lauren Minns ont marqué la première mi-temps. Noémi Brown et Tatiana Joseph ont impressionné sur les ailes montrant un grand calme pour des joueuses relativement peu expérimentées. TMR a été en mesure de contrôler la première demie avec une bonne défense en avant, et une ligne défensive très agressive. Sandra Demaine a commencé et terminé la partie avec la même vitesse défensive, menant et encourageant ses coéquipières à maintenir la structure et la rapidité de la ligne défensive. En deuxième demie, TMR Women’s Prems ont relâché l’intensité, permettant aux Locks de montrer un côté offensif qu’elles n’avaient pas su exprimé en première demie. Malgré un ralentissement en fin de match, TMR ont eu le meilleur sur leur adversaire, battant les Locks lors de cette deuxième rencontre de la saison.

TMR W2 vs CRQ II (L 00-164)
Saturday, June 16th, the TMR Seconds trekked to Quebec City to face long time rivals the Club de Rugby de Québec. Before arriving, the team already knew it would be a hard fought game, with only two substitutes on the sidelines and many girls needed to help in the firsts. From the start, CRQ II dominated offensively. Their quick moving backs and supportive forwards prevented TMR from playing any offense. Try after try was scored against us, the hot sun beating down on both teams. At the end of the first half, our ladies rallied their efforts and managed to maintain the ball on offense with great lines from fly half Steph Willis, returning forward Josianne Markoff and newly appointed scrum half Samara Ben Sabat. During halftime, Coach Beemer encouraged our team to focus on individual skills and what each player could do. They started the second half with a bit more gusto but unfortunately due to injuries and a need for substitutes in the firsts, the team finished the match with twelve very dedicated players. Defensively, full back Sabrina Forrest was challenged to make many difficult tackles. She tried her best to stop forward progress, though CRQ would offload to their support. Regardless, she would get up and try to make a second tackle in open play. Steve Kaladjian as blind side flanker made great efforts to tackle off scrums and kick offs, straight through to the end of the match.

TMR W1 vs CRQ I (L 12-85)
On Saturday, June 16th the TMR Women’s prems travelled to Québec City to take on the CRQ. Québec City has always been a formidable opponent for The Town, however, that did not stop the TMR women’s prems going in with their heads high and giving their all for the full 80 minutes. Although, even with the admirable defense from Ngalula Fuamba, the great run from Dori Yeats that lasted three quarters of the field and the backs’ quick offensive skills, the prems still fell short. CRQ’s ability to poach and offload the ball fatigued TMR’s players, who were already down in numbers. The game may have not been a scoreboard victory, but instead, it was a learning experience.

TMR W2 vs CRQ II (D 00-164)
Samedi, le 16 juin dernier, les TMR Women’s 2nd ont elles aussi voyagé jusqu’à la capitale nationale pour affronter leur rivale de longue date CRQ 2. Dès le départ, l’équipe savait que l’affrontement ne serait pas de tout repos, avec seulement 2 substitues et plusieurs joueuses devant aider TMR Women’s 1st. Dès le début, les rapides joueuses d’arrière constamment appuyé par les joueuses d’avant ont empêché TMR Women’s 2nd de démontrer leurs capacités offensives. Essai après essai, sous un soleil brûlant, elles ont épelé victoire sur le moral de leur adversaire. À la fin de la première demie, les joueuses de TMR Women’s 2nd ont rallié leurs efforts pour maintenir la balle en offense avec de magnifiques jeux orchestrés par la fly half Steph Willis, mettant en scène Josiane Markoff et la nouvelle scrum half Samara Ben Sabat. Pendant la mi-temps, l'entraîneur Craig Beemer a encouragé ses joueuses à se concentrer sur les compétences individuelles et ce que chaque joueur pouvait apporter à l’équipe. Elles ont commencé la deuxième demie avec un peu plus d'enthousiasme, mais malheureusement, en raison de blessures et d'un besoin de remplaçants dans la première demie, l'équipe a terminé le match avec douze joueuses très dévouées. Défensivement, la full back Sabrina Forrest a été mise au défi de faire de nombreux plaquages difficiles. Elle a fait de son mieux pour arrêter les progrès de l’adversaire, toutefois les joueuses de CRQ freinée passaient à leurs joueuses en soutien. Peu importe, elle se relevait et essayait de faire un deuxième plaquage avant qu’elles atteignent la zone des buts. Steve Kaladjian en tant que flanker du petit côté a fait de grands efforts pour remporter les mêlées et les bottés d’envoi, jusqu’à la fin du match.

TMR W1 vs CRQ I (D 12-85)
Samedi, le 16 juin dernier, les TMR Women’s Prems ont fait la route jusqu’à la capitale nationale pour affronter le Club de Rugby de Québec (CRQ). CRQ a toujours été un adversaire redoutable pour TMR, mais cela n’a pas empêché TMR Women’s Prems d’y aller la tête haute et de tout donner pendant 80 minutes. L’admirable défense de Ngalu Fuamba, la longue course incroyable de Dori Yeats qui a traversé le trois quarts du terrain et les habiletés offensives des arrières n’ont pas suffi pour vaincre CRQ. Les poaching (grattage) et offloads de CRQ ont fatigué les joueuses de TMR, déjà en sous-nombre. Le match ne fut peut-être pas une victoire au tableau indicateur, mais les joueuses de TMR Women’s Prems, sortent de cette expérience grandies et prêtes.

A LESSON IN EXCELLENCE
TMR W1 vs Montreal Barbarians (W 69-00)
On Saturday, June 9th, the TMR Women's prems, strong from their victories in previous weeks, met the Montreal Barbarians. From the start, TMR showed a solid team effort offensively with try after try. Even when possession was not their own, our ladies turned over the ball after a defensive wall stopped the Barbs forward progress. The forwards and backs worked together to continue crossing into their opponents end zones. The Montreal Barbarians tried to push back in the second half, though their efforts were short-lived. Excellent communication from the defensive line ensured full coverage of the field preventing any scoring possibilities. Anais converted the ball beautifully throughout the match, adding to the scoreboard for a clear and dominant victory.

THE ROAD TO SUCCESS
TMR W2 vs Sherbrooke Abénakis (L 20-48)
On Saturday June 9th, Sherbrooke Abénakis travelled to Montreal to test the TMR Women's seconds. From the start, TMR 2nds put the pressure on by countering each attack made by the Abenakis. The offensive attacks, made equally by backs and forwards as well as a strong defensive line allowed our ladies to score three tries in the first half. Magnificent runs, breaking through tackles, made by newcomer Tatiana Joseph and Noemi Brown proved threatening to the Sherbrooke defenders. Multiple injuries throughout the first half caused Coach Beemer to reorganize players on the field and in the end fatigue allowed Sherbrooke to take the lead over TMR. The TMR seconds showed great tenacity and improvements that are stepping stones to their future success.

TMR W1 vs Montreal Barbarians (V 69-00)
Samedi, le 9 juin 2018, forte de leurs victoires des dernières semaines, les TMR Women’s 1st attendaient leurs adversaire, les Montreal Barbarians RFC, de pied ferme. Dès le début de la partie, les TMR Women’s 1st ont démontré une belle cohésion en offensive permettant de spectaculaire montée. Les avants et les arrières ont joué de concert pour inscrire, jeu après jeu, leur marque sur la feuille de pointage. Les Montreal Barbarians RFC ont tenté un retour qui a été rapidement court circuité par l’excellente communication de la ligne défensive des TMR Women’s 1st. Anais Holly a réussi de magnifiques bottés, ajoutant plusieurs points au tableau.

Samedi, le 9 juin 2018, les Sherbrooke Abenakis ont fait la route vers Montréal pour affronter une équipe en continuelle progression, les TMR Women’s 2nd. Dès le début de la partie, les TMR Women’s 2nd ont su maintenir la pression en répliquant à chaque attaque des Sherbrookoises. Le travail offensif autant des joueuses d’avant que des joueuses d’arrière ainsi que la forte ligne défensive ont permis au TMR Women’s 2nd d’inscrire 15 points en première demie. De magnifique phases offensives et courses notamment de Tatiana Joseph et Noémie Brown ont gardé les supportaires en haleine. Les blessures qui ont forcé une réorganisation massive sur le terrain et la fatigue ont permis au Sherbrooke Abenakis de prendre le dessus sur les TMR Women’s 2nd. Les joueuses des TMR Women’s 2nd ont démontré une grande ténacité et montre de belle amélioration que ne peuvent que les mener vers le succès.

A LESSON IN GRIT
TMR W2 vs Kingston Panthers (L 00-87)
On Saturday, June 2nd, the Women's seconds ventured to Kingston to play the Kingston Panthers' firsts. From start to finish, the Panthers showed their athleticism and out maneuvered the TMR ladies. Rosalie Authier led the team with enthusiasm, keeping the team positive throughout the match. At half, the team was already tired. The women made every effort to push through, with two subs made in the second half. A yellow card had our women playing short for ten minutes. The Panthers took full advantage of their extra player and ran try after try down into the TMR end zone. A strong first match for inside centre Stephanie Willis who made tackle after tackle and kept getting back up for more hits. The whole team showed perseverance and grit while playing a team stacked with university level players. They kept their heads high and did not quit trying to make their hits.
Final score : Kingston over TMR, 87-0
SLOW START, STRONG FINISH
TMR W1 VS SABRFC (W 34-29)
On Saturday June 2nd, TMR Women’s Rugby Prems travelled to Ste-Anne-De-Bellevue to take on a very strong SABRFC side. TMR got off to a slow start, allowing SABRFC to showcase their strong back line and attacking speed. Several handling errors, interceptions and penalty trouble left TMR disorganized as they approached the half. Picking themselves back up, TMR was able to respond with strong phase play rugby, but would go into the half down by two tries. For the second time this season, TMR would start the second half come-back. With a go forward defense, and strong individual efforts from Mercedes Martino, Ngalula Faumba, Magali Harvey and Anais Holly TMR was off to the races. There was great back and forth action from both SABRFC and TMR, responding to each others scores and often playing try-line defense. TMR forwards had dominated set piece all game, and with no time remaining, the score was tied at (29-29). With the final play, on SABRFC 5m line, TMR scored a push over try to win the match.

Samedi, 2 juin 2018, TMR Women’s Seconds se sont aventurées jusqu’à Kingston pour affronter les Kingston’s Panthers’ first. Du début à la fin, les Panthers ont montré leur athlétisme et déjouées les dames de TMR. Rosalie Authier a mené l'équipe avec enthousiasme, gardant l'équipe positive tout au long du match. À la mi-temps, l'équipe était déjà fatiguée. Les TMR Women’s Seconds ont fait tous les efforts pour passer à travers, avec deux remplacements réalisés dans la seconde moitié. Un carton jaune a forcé TMR à jouer en sous-nombre pendant 10 minutes. Les Panthers ont su tirer avantage de leur joueuse additionnelle en marquant plusieurs essaies consécutifs. Ce fût un bon premier match pour la joueuse de centre Stephanie Willis qui a fait plaqué après plaqué sans relâche. Toute l’équipe a fait preuve de persévérance et de cran face à l’équipe adverse composée de joueuses de niveau universitaire. Elles ont gardé la tête haute et n’ont pas cessé de se battre jusqu’au sifflet final.

DÉBUT LABORIEUX, DÉNOUEMENT VICTORIEUX
TMR W1 VS SABRFC (V 34-29)
Samedi, 2 juin 2018, TMR Women’s Prems ont fait la route jusqu’à Ste-Anne-De-Bellevue pour se mesurer à une équipe très bien préparée les SABRFC. TMR a connu un départ lent ce qui a permis au SABRFC de démontrer leur forte ligne arrière et leur impressionnante vitesse d’attaque. Plusieurs erreurs de manipulation, interceptions et pénalité ont laissé TMR désorganisé à l'approche de la demie. Les filles de TMR prems se sont secouées, étant en mesure de réagir avec un solide jeu en phase offensive. À la demie, elles avaient deux essais de retard. Pour une seconde fois cette saison, TMR a entrepris un retour en deuxième demie. Grâce à la forte pression de la ligne défensive et les impressionnants efforts offensifs de Mercedes Martino, Ngalula Faumba, Magali Harvey et Anais Holly, TMR avait le vent dans les voiles. Les SABRFC et TMR se sont relancées offensivement, marquant à tour de rôle et défendant férocement leur ligne d’essai. Les joueuses d’avant ont largement dominé toute la partie. Le temps règlementaire écoulé, la marque était égal (29-29). Le jeu final fut décisif. À la ligne de 5 m des SABRFC, TMR a fait une poussée pour traverser la ligne et remporter la partie.

Dear players, members, alumni and partners of TMR Rugby, it is with great pleasure that we are announcing a tour to Tokyo, Japan, where we will be visiting both Kajima RFC and Kurumi RFC. Thanks to the great relationship that has blossomed over the years between TMR RFC and our hosts, Kajima RFC, we be welcoming us prior to the upcoming Rugby World Cup in Tokyo.
In Week 2 of the 2018 season, all teams were on the road. The Women were visiting the Ottawa Banshees and St-Lambert Locks, as the Men were opening the season in Barrhaven, against the Scottish.

Levée de fonds 101
Il y a à peine quelques semaines, Pierre Drolet était au parc Jarry, terrain de pratique temporaire de l'équipe senior masculine, lorsqu'il a pris les devant : « Nous étions entre un club de hurling irlandais et un groupe de bhouddiste qui faisait du yoga, dit-il, il fallait sortir de là! ».
Voyant que le temps manquait, Drolet se lance dans un projet ambitieux : Amasser 5000 $, un montant qui devrait couvrir l'ensemble des dépenses en terrains pour la saison. Et le tout en 2 semaines!
Rapidement, il présente le projet à quelques individus clés qui deviennent rapidement de grands donateurs. Avec 3000 $ en poche, Drolet étend l'invitation et obtient 1000 $ supplémentaires grâce à la générosité de quelque uns, qui donnent jusqu'à 250 $ chacun pour la cause. Profitant de l'engoument vif, mais passager, il met sur pied le groupe des Grinders, constitué de Townies moins aisés, mais ayant beaucoup de volonté. Il défi les Grinders d'accoter son propre don de 50 $, et recrute 14 d'entre eux en seulement 24 heures. Tous tiendront leur promesse.
Ainsi, Pierre relève avec brio le défi qu'il s'était lancé 2 semaines plus tôt, en amassant un total de 5100 $. Une initiative qui nous permettra de profiter du terrain de Vanier pour l'ensemble saison 2018.
« Il est important de noter que plus de 60 % des fonds amassés proviennent de gens qui ne jouent plus et/ou sont à l'extérieur de Montréal. Ceci montre à quel point les gens sont attachés au club. »

Fundraising 101
No longer than a few weeks ago, Pierre Drolet was at Jarry park, temporary practice field for the senior men, when he took action : « We were practicing between an Irish hurling club and a Buddhist group doing yoga, he says, we needed to get out of there! ».
Conscious that there was very little time to act, Drolet he launches an ambitious project : Fundraising $ 5,000, a sufficient amount to cover fields fees for the upcoming season. And get it done in 2 weeks!
Quickly, he presents the project to a few key individuals who quickly became generous donors. With $ 3,000 in hand, Drolet extends the invite and gains another $ 1,000 thanks the generosity of a group, who donated up to $ 250 to the cause. Taking advantage of the acute but brief interest for his project, he creates the Grinders group, made of less well off, but very determined Townies. He challenges the Grinders to match his own donation of $ 50, and recruits 14 of them in less than 24 hours. All respect their pledges.
Thus, Pierre brilliantly takes up the challenge he started 2 weeks earlier, by raising a total of $ 5,100. An initiative that allows us to thrive at the Vanier backfield for the entire 2018 season.
